The Thief

April 22, 2024

“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy.” My purpose is to bring life in its fullness.” John 10:10 NLT

We have a dog bone thief in the house. I bought a three pack of hard veggie and chicken dog chews, designed to bring hours of chewing pleasure.

Later that day, while working in my home office I opened the adult-with-arthritic-hands-proof package with my lefty scissors and gave a bone to each pup. Our pups made hours of chewing pleasure into a five minute walk in the park.

When we went downstair, I left the package with the lone unchewed bone on my desk, next to my scissors.

The next morning I stopped by my office to get my backpack. That’s when I noticed the theft. The now empty package sat alone on the floor, next to my scissors.

I suspect that Jackson is the thief, since he is a better climber than Izzy. Who knew he was a lefty?

Sometime the sneaky pup boldly went into my office and stole the bone, leaving not a crumb behind.

Jesus said in the text above that the thief comes to steal and to kill and to destroy. Fortunately for the pups, life in our house has abundant Bully Sticks and lots of grace for two little, fluff-ball critters.

So does God. ~ Anne
