“Throw all your anxiety onto him, because he cares about you.” ~ 1 Peter 5:7 CEB
The little girls are here for the long weekend, and after putting their PJ’s on, they came into my office. Marie-Hélène walked right over to my “Worry Jar” asked for a piece of paper and pencil, and set to writing something to put in the jar. Her sister, Anne-Sophie, asked what she was going. I explained that you write something you are worried about, put it in the jar, and I pray for that worry. She asked for a piece of paper and pencil, started writing, not just one or two but a number of things on slips of paper.
I got into the action as well, and for a good five minutes, there was a blessed stillness in the room. When we were done, all the prayers and worries sealed in the jar, I confessed that I out in one about missing Kiko. They both chimed in that they’d also done that. Then, we held the jay and I said a short prayer.
As we finished, Anne-Sophie, said, “Nana, you should bring this to church.” We have one in our church and I put a lot of prayers and worries in it.” Why not? I never thought about it. But coming this Sunday, it will be in place.
