We can see and understand only a little about God now, as if we were peering at his reflection in a poor mirror; but someday we are going to see him in his completeness, face-to-face. Now all that I know is hazy and blurred, but then I will see everything clearly, just as clearly as God sees into my heart right now.” 1 Corinthians 13:12 TLB
Our assignment was to go outside walk around the Charlotte Spirituality Center for about half an hour and find an object or take a photo of something that caught our attention. When the time was over, we would share our discoveries and what caught our attention with the cohort of spiritual directors in training.
What caught my attention was a quarter-filled, somewhat dirty bird bath with the reflection of other a bit of sky and bush.

I got closer for a better look, and what I saw looked like a small slice of the enormity of eternity. Sky, plants, and water were all visible within the more-empty-than-full and somewhat dirty and slightly askew bird bath.

William Blake wrote this, “To see a world in a grain of sand, or heaven in a wildflower. Hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour.”
Such glimpses of eternity are all around us. Please help me, help us to pay attention. ~ Anne
