I began to write a meditation yesterday evening about the incredible sunrises and sunsets this time of the year. But as I soon discovered, a long and busy day along with the sun setting at 5 pm got the better of me, and I put it aside.
As I was eating breakfast, I received this text message from a friend, “If you are not up, get up and look at that sunrise!” Earlier, I’d walked to the end of the driveway to get the newspaper, so absorbed in thought that I hadn’t looked up. Her text message sent me to the window. She was right! The glorious shades of colors layered one on top of the other was stunning! Only God could paint that sunrise, and only a friend would share it.
I’d have missed the sunrise if not for her text, and this meditation would not have been finished.
God, thank you for friends who care deeply for you – and for others. ~ Anne
