I cry out, ‘O that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest.”
Psalm 55:6 from Psalms for Praying, Nan Merrill
“Come to me, all you who are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”
~ Matthew 11:28, NRSV
This is an invitation to take a few minutes of rest, to say yes to Jesus’ invitation to Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”~ Mark 6:31 NIV You can take a couple minutes, or more, to hear the invitation to go to a quiet place and get some rest.

Feel free to take a slow walk across this swinging bridge in your imagination. Breathe, in and out, in and out, in and out. Take your time, one foot in front of the other as you gently follow the wooden slats of the bridge toward the other side. With each step, allow whatever worries or burdens you carry to drop away. Perhaps they can be gently dropped into the river and float downstream.
Allow the bridge to hold you above all the worries and burdens, just as the Spirit does. When you are at the end, step into the next moments of our life, refreshed and renewed.
Peace, be still! ~ Anne
