Have you ever thought about what your last words might be?
I hope it’s not “Opps!” or “I shouldn’t have eaten that!” or “I should have looked before I crossed that road!” or “….!” You can fill in the blank.
My Mother-in-Law, Joyce Chamberlain died on December 22, at the age of ninety-three, seven months after her husband, Daniel died. They would have been married for seventy-three years had Dan lived until August 2024. Her last words? “Thank you Jesus”.
It shouldn’t be a surprise. She started every prayer with the words, “Jesus, you are so good to me”.
I hope that words of thanksgiving are on my lips now, and then.
