More Than You Need

August 16, 2024

“And God is able to give you more than you need, so that you will always have all you need for yourselves and more than enough for every good cause”. ~ 2 Corinthians 9:8-11

I recently spent 3 days in Atlanta with my two younger granddaughters. We stayed across the street from Olympic Park and took advantage of utilizing two different playgrounds, walking along shaded paths, and observing various engraved pavement stones representing different Olympic events.

A highlight each warm August afternoon was a water feature in the shape of the 5 Olympic Rings filled with water fountains that intermittently turned off and off and were perfect for playing in.

However, as is often the case with siblings, neighborhoods and nations, the one thing you don’t have is the one thing that you most want.

Sibling arguments about finders rights happened between our sons when they were about the same age. Such arguments happen with Izzy and Jackson when they both want the same treats, despite the fact, I always provide what they need, plus.

It served as a teaching opportunity with the girls to learn about abundance and scarcity.

I am grateful for two amazing little girls who remind me of the human nature we all share. May we learn that God provides abundantly far more than we can imagine. ~ Anne
