Now is the right time! See! Now is the day to be saved.” ~ 2 Corinthians 6:2b
Going to Hawaii with the whole family to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary was a big deal, that took lots of planning, ate up lots of time in airplanes and airports, meant significant jetlag adjustments due to the 5-hour time difference, not to mention the financial cost.

Dan and I at dinner with our grandchildren
What remains with me, aside from the worship service to renew of wedding vows at Hui Aloha church in Kaupo, are the moments of being present in the “now.” Some that come quickly to mind were family meals, like the one pictured above with our grandchildren. I remember walking behind the grandchildren on the way back to the condos after dinner. Ross held of Anne-Sophie’s hand, and Lily held Marie-Hélène’s hand the whole way and I had the privilege of watching.
I remember the afternoon at the beach as Marie- Hélène danced in the waves, screeching in pure joy as waves crashed around her. I remember Seth and Dan volunteering to sing karaoke at Ohana Seafood Bar and Grill one evening. And I remember the last breakfast with Anne-Sophie, Marie-Hélène girls and Rod overlooking Kameole beach, as the sky lightened, and everyone was quiet as they ate. I realized that this moment was sacred, set-apart, never-to-be-repeated again. These “nows” were not about things, but about precious and thankfully recognized moments in time. Now is the time, today is the day to be saved from things like hurry, worries, and stuff to become aware of God’s presence in all things. ~ Anne
