I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. One of the tasks in the Magic Quest required speed, touching the magic wand to an object in one wing of the lodge and then touching a different object in a wing on the other side of the lodge within 30 seconds. Marie-Hélène and I started at the end so that she could easily identify her goal, and then going back to the other wing to the first object. I reminded her that she’d need to run, and she looked up at me, saying, “Nana, you can’t run!” I assured her that I’d follow and catch up with her at the goal. She touched the object with her wand, pivoted, and sprinted for dear life, dodging around people twice her size to get to the goal. I followed along at a slow jog and caught up just in time to see her toothless, radiant smile. She’d done it, off and running, not turning back until she reached the goal.
Oh, for such focus and determination as I respond to God’s beckoning, not turning back, keeping my eye on the goal. ~ Anne
